I’m constantly amazed by sound’s ability to shape the way we feel and experience something.
Even the tiniest details of a sound can tell you a lot about the story. Exploring this relationship between sound, feeling and experience is what keeps pulling me down the rabbit hole.
Whenever I work on a project, I like to ask myself “What is the project’s intention?” and “How does it want to express itself?”. The answers to those questions then guide the decisions I make.
About
I’m Kevin Abundo, an audio engineer and sound designer based in Kolding, Denmark
My primary work spans studio recording, stereo and Dolby Atmos mixing, music production and creative sound design.
I’m currently studying a professional bachelor’s degree in Sound Design at Sonic College.
Being a musician was my way into creatively working with sound and for many years, I never imagined working with audio outside music. When a friend asked me to do the sound design on her short film, I had no idea it would destroy the bubble I was in and open up my world to a whole new dimension of audio.
Studying at Sonic College has only pushed me to explore even more areas of audio production I had never even considered.
I enjoy the creative process of bouncing ideas around, working together and learning from other creatives in collaborative projects and I’ve learned that freedom to create and express, honest and constructive feedback, setting aside our egos and “killing your darlings” are key elements to a great project.
